Expression of Interest - First Nations Tourism Mentors
Potential mentors are encouraged to apply for place-based roles as part of the $10 million First Nations Tourism Mentoring Program.
As visitors return to Australia, the program will provide culturally appropriate, one-on-one mentoring to First Nations tourism businesses across the country. This support will help tourism operators to grow their professional skills and take full advantage of the increasing market for visitors interested in experiencing cultural tourism activities.
Skilled-mentors will be matched with local tourism businesses to start identifying areas of potential support. Mentors will be paid and will share their industry knowledge, provide fresh perspectives, identify opportunities for growth and provide short, medium or long-term guidance to assist business in reaching their goals.
Local First Nations mentors with suitable business and tourism industry experience are preferred, where available, to ensure culturally safe mentoring support.
Designed with First Nations tourism businesses and state tourism agencies, the program is now ready to recruit suitably experienced and culturally competent mentors to make the program a success.
Expressions of interest will close on 11 April 2023.
More information about the expression of interest process, including how to apply, is available on the First Nations Tourism Mentoring Program website.
