NAIDOC 2025 Local Grants

Celebrate NAIDOC Week 2025. Local grant applications open, closes 20 February 2025

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week

The NAIDOC 2025 Local Grants are now open.

Grants are now available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and supporting organisations across Australia to celebrate NAIDOC Week (6 - 13 July 2025).

NAIDOC Local Grants provide a co-contribution towards the cost of NAIDOC activities and events.

Applicants can apply for funding via GrantConnect. Grant applications close at 3.00pm AEDT on Thursday 20 February 2025.

Most grants are expected to be awarded for $10,000 or less. A small number of grants may be awarded for between $10,001 and the maximum of $25,000.

Activities must align with the 2025 National NAIDOC Week theme “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision, Legacy” and celebrate First Nations histories, cultures, achievements and continuing contributions to our country and Australian society.

Events and activities could include:

  • activities that promote heathy outcomes for First Nations people
  • arts based activities, including design work, painting, dancing, crafts and storytelling
  • family fun days
  • cultural activities, including Welcome to Country
  • Elders activities
  • bush tucker and other community cooking activities
  • NAIDOC themed sporting activities or competitions
  • activities that actively promote reconciliation.

The NAIDOC Local Grants are delivered under Program 1.4 – Culture and Capability of the Indigenous Advancement Strategy.
