Stronger Futures in the Northern Territory: Sunset Review

The Sunset Review was undertaken to assess the impact of the Stronger Futures in the Northern Territory Act 2012 and Part 10 of the Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Act 1995 and identify the implications of them sunsetting. It also recommends future actions to address aspects of alcohol misuse, land reform, food security and prohibited materials policy ceasing under the legislation that are of continuing relevance. It found that the legislation has achieved its purpose and the recommendations will assist the Australian Government and the NT Government to consider arrangements to address these matters when both pieces of legislation sunset. The scope of the review is confined to sunsetting legislation.
