Remote Jobs and Economic Development Program draft Grant Opportunity Guidelines

Publication author(s):

National Indigenous Australians Agency

Publication abstract:

The Remote Jobs and Economic Development (RJED) program is being developed in partnership with First Nations people and will provide job seekers in remote communities with meaningful jobs with fair pay and conditions.

As part of the program, the NIAA proposes to run a competitive grant process for potential employers across all Community Development Program (CDP) regions.

Successful applicants will receive grant funding for wages at the relevant award wage (or the National Minimum Wage where no award applies), plus superannuation and leave to employ CDP participants and those eligible for CDP.

Jobs proposed under the RJED program will need to support community priorities and be a new position that cannot be supported through other Government funding.

Draft Grant Opportunity Guidelines (GOGs) for this opportunity are available for public consultation until 31 July 2024.

There is a factsheet available to help you better understand the specific elements we are consulting on in the draft GOGs, the process, and next steps.

You can email your feedback to remote.jobs@niaa.gov.au. Responses provided will inform the final Grant Opportunity Guidelines for the RJED program.
