Using low aromatic unleaded fuel in cars, boats and small engines is better for the local community. By replacing regular unleaded fuel, low aromatic unleaded fuel is helping to reduce petrol sniffing in areas where it is a problem.

Research has found that the rollout of low aromatic unleaded fuel has decreased petrol sniffing by up to 94 per cent.

Cost

The Australian Government funds the extra costs of producing low aromatic unleaded fuel. This allows it to be sold at a similiar price to regular unleaded fuel. When you fill up using low aromatic unleaded fuel it should not cost you more, but it will make a difference to the local communities you are visiting. Many fuel stations across Australia supply low aromatic unleaded fuel.

If your journey takes you through some of our country’s regional and remote areas, use low aromatic unleaded fuel instead of regular unleaded 91 fuel to support the communities that you explore. For more information visit www.lowaromaticunleaded.gov.au
