The Australian Government’s response to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Indigenous Affair’s report into Indigenous Participation in Employment and Business.

  • The Government has supported or provided in-principle support for 8 of the 17 recommendations made in the report. Nine of the recommendations will inform existing reforms, and these have been noted. The recommendations relate to growing Indigenous businesses (including the Indigenous Procurement Policy, and Business and Employment Hubs) ; enhancing employment services (including the co-design of the Remote Engagement Program and Workforce Australia); and the need for better data.

NIAA led the development of this Government’s response including consultations across governments.
