The Asyrikarrak Kirim Rangers are based in Peppimenarti in the Daly River region of the Northern Territory. This region contains wetlands comprising floodplains and billabongs that are teeming with wildlife.
The ranger team currently consists of five full-time rangers. The main tasks of the rangers include:

  • weed and feral animal control
  • prescribed burning
  • cultural site maintenance
  • community awareness programs
  • having a visible presence on country.

Their operational environment has minimal degradation. The rangers work to keep it that way by combining sound traditional practices with contemporary scientific methods.
Visitors are welcome at the ranger station - feel free to drop in!
