We fund Indigenous heritage projects through the Indigenous Advancement Strategy

Places that are important to Indigenous people are kept in good condition through heritage projects. The projects help them care for their cultural heritage. They also provide training, employment and business opportunities.

Caring for cultural and heritage sites is also an important part of managing Indigenous land, waters and sea country. This is supported through  Indigenous Protected Areas and Indigenous ranger projects

In December 2015, the Government released its Australian Heritage Strategy, which will ensure that our Indigenous heritage places are identified, conserved and protected.
