NIAA Annual Report 2021-22
The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) is proud to present the Annual Report for 2021-22.
The Annual Report demonstrates our achievements against performance measures outlined in the NIAA Corporate Plan 2021–22.
The NIAA has worked in partnership and in place with First Nations peoples to lead and influence change across government, to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have a say in the decisions that affect them. We have focussed on priorities and deliverables that:
- improve economic opportunities and outcomes through the delivery of the National Roadmap for Indigenous Skills, Jobs and Wealth Creation
- support mental health and wellbeing for First Nations peoples through focusing on childhood development, school attendance and attainment
- contribute to the ability of First Nations peoples to have a say on issues that affect them through the delivery of the Indigenous Voice Co-Design Process Final Report
- continue to work towards Closing the Gap to ensure First Nations peoples achieve life outcomes equal to all Australians.
This annual report has been prepared in accordance with section 46 of the Public Governance Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act).
NIAA’s annual report is also available on the whole-of-government Transparency Portal, the central repository of publicly available corporate information for all Commonwealth bodies.
